This year, as SCMA celebrates 35 years, we are bringing together some of our favorite speakers, teachers, mediators, and longtime SCMA leaders for a conference built around the thing our community has always done best: learning from one another.
Join us at Pepperdine University on Saturday, November 7, 2026, for a full day of exceptional mediation education featuring Ken Cloke as our keynote speaker, Woody Mosten closing the conference, and the return of the Advanced Track with Lee Jay Berman, along with workshops led by some of the past presidents and respected voices who have helped shape SCMA over the years.
Of course, we could never fit everyone we love learning from into a single conference. But we have invited back some of the people who have challenged us, taught us, inspired us, and helped make this organization what it is today.
And the celebration begins the night before. Join us Friday, November 6, for SCMA’s Annual Dinner and Awards Celebration as we gather with friends and colleagues to celebrate 35 years of SCMA before heading to Malibu for the conference on Saturday.

Each year the SCMA presents the Cloke-Millen Peacemaker Award to an individual or organization in the dispute resolution community who inspires us through their passion and dedication to peacemaking.
Each year SCMA presents the L. Randolph Lowry Award to a member of the dispute resolution community who has honored and inspired us through their passion and dedication to education in the field of dispute resolution.
It has been a tradition that the SCMA President recognizes an individual who has made a significant impact to the organization and the mediation community during their term in office.
