Judge Dordi was appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2016 by Governor Jerry Brown.
Currently, Judge Dordi serves as the Assistant Supervising Judge for the Family Law Division and presides over a split family law home court and settlement court in the Van Nuys East Courthouse.
He is involved in the County’s main Teen Court program, a juvenile diversionary program for youthful offenders who commit non-violent offenses, as well as with SHADES, an enhanced version of Teen Court focused on incidents related to hate/bias and bullying among youth.
Before joining the bench, Judge Dordi was a founding partner of Dordi Williams Cohen, a boutique law firm focused on white collar defense and complex criminal and civil trials, and served for nearly 14 years as a Deputy Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California.
During that time, he served as Chief of the Los Angeles Office’s Trial Unit and served in the Appellate Unit.
He is a graduate of Loyola Law School and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
