Leila Yavari currently serves as the Director of Development at Saving Innocence, an LA-based non-profit that is a leader in the struggle against human trafficking. She is developing programs to support the women in her native Iran in their battle for dignity and democracy. She helped build, lead, and internationalize one of the leading luxury online retailers in Europe and is considered an icon in the global fashion industry. She received her Masters Degree in Political Science at the University of California Berkeley and wrote her thesis on subversive art practice in The Islamic Republic of Iran, based on extensive fieldwork.
