Rachel Goldman

After enjoying a successful collaborative family law and mediation practice for three decades, Rachel decided a geographical adventure and a professional change were in order.  She moved from Boston to Los Angeles, became a Certified Professional Coach through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), and began coaching people facing personal, professional, and relationship challenges.

In 2019, Rachel founded RBG Consulting, where she specializes in leadership and communication coaching and facilitating difficult conversations between two or more people.  She has worked with hundreds of clients, helping them move from feeling stuck to imagining options, from emotionally reacting to choosing how to engage and communicate productively, and from making decisions based on limiting self-perceptions and attitudes to seeing and realizing endless possibilities. Her approach is to support and help her clients by asking empowering questions that expand their perspectives, uncovering and challenging obstacles that block them from reaching their goals, teaching them new skills and tools that will serve them better, and partnering with them as they design and implement action plans that move them forward.

In addition to coaching and facilitation, Rachel custom designs courses, trainings, and workshops on topics related to communication and conflict management for professional groups, organizations, and colleges and universities. She is an instructor in the Conflict Resolution Department at the University of California Davis Continuing and Professional Education Department where she teaches The Art of Engaging in Conflict and Fundaments of Conflict Resolution Skills.  She is also an instructor for the California Water Boards Leadership Program where she teaches workshops on effective listening, communication, how to delegate effectively, conflict management, persuasion, and negotiation.
